This shiny booth is ID Helsinki 2018 stand for Finnish luminaire brand Innolux. I designed it with a few clear principles in mind. I wanted a bit of drama, bit of “smoke and mirros” for illusions and to crown it all with a real show-stopper piece.
The stand had fairly many lamps with pretty serious light output. The center installation built of 18 Valovoima Mini therapy lamps alone pushed over 18 000 lumens. Hence the color scheme was built around black and dark grays. I decided also to utilize the existing infrastructure, in this case the black acoustic curtain behind the booth.
In tems of layout the stand is fairly simple. Three podiums and bar-height “discussion table” were the only pieces of furniture. The catch was to use MGBOND composite with mirror polished aluminium on most surfaces. When paired with black painted MDF frame the result was nothing short of illusory.
For the flooring I chose a high-durability vinyl carpet (Bolon by Jean Nouvel Design) which was later re-used in Innolux headquarters lobby. The exhibition stand was built by Gaston Tapahtuma- ja Tilapalvelut Oy.
